Just B Productions presents the Tony Award–winning play Red by John Logan at The Cultch’s Vancity Culture Lab.

Directed by Stephen Heatley, this gripping two-hander invites audiences into the studio of abstract expressionist painter Mark Rothko (James MacDonald) as he embarks on a monumental commission: a series of murals for New York’s Four Seasons Restaurant. With his young assistant Ken (Blake Buksa) questioning his every move, Rothko confronts themes of art, legacy, and responsibility. Bold, intimate, and thought-provoking, Red is a theatrical experience that ignites the debate of whether art should challenge or simply please society.
