Join The Cultch’s Artistic team, Heather Redfern and Nicole McLuckie, for an exclusive insiders tour of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe!

With over 3500  shows and 54,000 performances from 63 countries taking place in over 300 venues, the festival is a mecca for theatre, dance, circus and comedy. After years of coming to the festival, Nicole and Heather have the inside track and will give you a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Accommodation

You will enjoy a 5-night stay at Apex Grassmarket.

Situated right in the middle of the Grassmarket, this 4-star Edinburgh hotel is located in the historic heart of the festival.  Perfect for culture vultures, the superior king rooms have dramatic views of the castles and everything you need from cosy king-size beds to little luxury touches, including a pool to plunge into and a fitness room. Your hotel stay includes a hearty full-Scottish breakfast at the well appointed restaurant.

You will experience 12 curated performances carefully selected for you by Nicole and Heather at some of the festival’s top venues.

Special guests and events

Our visits to several of the festival venues will include meet and greets with  artists and other theatre professionals,  a backstage tour, and talks by some of the leading theatre professionals from around the world.

dining

You will be welcomed at 3 group meals at some of our favourite Edinburgh restaurants, where we can all share our thoughts about the productions we have seen. Each meal will feature a guest specially chosen to add insight to your experiences. 

Theatre free day

A day off from theatre to explore Edinburgh. Visit the castle or Holyrood Palace, hike up Arthur’s Seat or enjoy  a scotch tasting, tee time, or walking tour for an additional fee.

Cultch experiences

We will kick off our adventure in July with wine and cheese at The Cultch. This is an opportunity  to meet each other and to go over our itinerary. After our return, the group will be invited to attend a reception and performance together at The Cultch as part of the 2026/27 season.

PRICING

For this Edinburgh Theatre Experience, inclusive of 5-nights at Apex Grassmarket, daily breakfast, a fully curated schedule of shows, 3 group dinners, and behind-the-scenes experiences, the cost is:

$5,300 CAD* +  $1,500 tax receipted donation

Per Person/ Single Occupancy
$7,100  CAD* +  $1,500 tax receipted donation

Add-ons: The opportunity to upgrade your room or extend your stay for an additional charge, this is subject to availability.

*Itinerary subject to change; final itinerary circulated with tour packet prior to departure. Performances to be announced after the close of tour registration.

Not included: flights, travel insurance, VISAs and travel documentation, cell phone and data plans, supplementary WiFi, land-line phone calls, single room supplement, drinks at scheduled meals, meals and/ or activities including performances not specified in the itinerary, porterage, room service, mini bar, laundry, personal expenses, pre and post nights available at additional costs subject to availability.

DETAILS TO CONSIDER

Plan to arrive in Edinburgh on or before August 21st, 2026.

A valid passport with at least 6 months before the expiration date remaining from the date you plan to depart Scotland is required. 

Payment Schedule:

  1. May 1 $2,000 CAD deposit to Direct Travel – Non-refundable after tour confirmation of a minimum of 4 participants.
  2. June 1  $3,300 CAD – final payment to Direct Travel non refundable, or $5,100 CAD for single rooms
  3. $1500 CAD Tax deductible DonationTax deductible donation can be made to Vancouver East Cultural Centre payment by e-transfer ap@thecultch.com, cheque or credit card.
