Some things are worth waiting for, and So Help Me God is one of them.
The Guardian

Cellist, vocalist, and composer Kelsey Lu performs at the Chan Centre in support of So Help Me God, their first album in seven years.

Following the lush, orchestral landscapes of their acclaimed debut Blood, Lu’s latest work is a powerful meditation on transformation, devotion, grief, and self-discovery—or what they call “a reckoning.” Their “graceful and athletic” (Stereogum) vocals blend with haunting cello, distorted guitars, and choral swells to create a striking interplay of light and shadow: a Caravaggio painting brought to life in sound.

Between Blood and So Help Me God, Lu remained busy, composing scores for Netflix’s award-winning documentary Daughters and A24’s BAFTA-winning Earth Mama. They also collaborated with artists including Yves Tumor, Debbie Harry, and Jamie xx, while partnering with leading fashion houses such as Miu Miu and Gucci.

Some artistic journeys are worth the wait. Don’t miss the bold, boundary-defying creative universe of Kelsey Lu.
