West Side Story presents an updated version of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, in which the star-crossed lovers are placed in Manhattan in the 1950s. The feuding Capulets and Montague’s had their counterparts in the rival gangs known as the Jets and the Sharks. A work of art that challenges prejudice and affirms the power of love and defiance of social norms. Realized by the Senior Company of Burlington Student Theatre, who brought you Evita, Crazy For You and Chicago, West Side Story is a classic that is not to be missed.
