The Vancouver Black Independent Film Festival (VBIFF25) returns October 30 – November 1, 2025, celebrating the bold creativity and powerful voices of filmmakers local, across Canada and beyond.

This year’s lineup showcases groundbreaking work, including our Gala screening of local award winning film maker Baljit Sangra and the rising New Wave of Northern independent filmmakers in Canada. Audiences can dive deeper into our We Reel Cool Lounge Panel on Afrofuturism, where cultural leaders, artists, and innovators explore futures shaped by diaspora imagination.

Our Film Festival has become a celebration of cinema, music, and community where the world comes to embrace and share its stories.
