The Collectif Petit Travers and the Debussy String Quartet join forces in this production, exploring the close links between the intimate and universal realms of their performers. The musicians and jugglers search the ways they shape their relationships with the world. Each artist’s path is integrated into the tapestry of intimate testimonies and diverse musical and choreographic languages.

Artistic directors Nicolas Mathis and Julien Clément have undertaken this rich and reflective collaboration with the musicians of the Debussy Quartet and the music of Henry Purcell and Marc Mellits.

Collectif Petit Travers

The Collectif Petit Travers was founded in 2004. Artistic directors Nicolas Mathis and Julien Clément have led the company together since 2011. The company’s activity is mainly focused on the production and distribution of large-format juggling shows and educational outreach. Since its inception 20 years ago the company has produced a repertoire of nine major works, a creation for amateur performers, and four small productions, with a total of over 1000 performances throughout the world.

Debussy String Quartet

In thirty years of activity, the Debussy String Quartet has been acclaimed throughout the world. The Quartet shares its musical passion on the world’s most prestigious stages, in Japan, China, the United States, Canada, Australia, Russia, and across Europe.

Thirty years of evolution have made the ensemble a key player on the international music scene, with numerous awards, including a First Prize in the Evian International String Quartet Competition in 1993 and a Victoire de la Musique 1996 (Best Chamber Music Group).

“A demanding, intelligent, sensitive juggling and choreography showcasing sumptuous tableaux and breathtaking technical mastery. It’s rare to see so many jugglers together on stage, and here they do it with mastery: a must-see!”
